1) How does Gilroy suggest racial identities are constructed? Race can be seen as shared biological identities inherited from previous generations. Racial categories are caused by human interactions and as such those categories are subject to change. 2) What does Gilroy suggest regarding the causes and history of racism?  WWW: This is a good essay that addresses both CSPs. You’ve included some of Gauntlett’s ideas regarding masculinity. You have clearly studied both of the CSPs and make some references to them. Now you need to work on exam technique to turn knowledge into high-level exam performance. EBI: The main issue I have with your essay is that your introduction and conclusion somewhat contradict your opinion. At the start of your essay you claim it is not in crisis but by the end you state it is. It is important to carefully read the statement as it says that Gauntlett argues AGAINST the idea that masculinity is in crisis. What may also have helped here is having a paragraph towards the end discussing other gender theories (for example Butler and van Zoonen and how their ideas link to the CSPs and the construction of masculinity in the media.)   Also, a technical suggestion on how you construct and organise your essay. Try and avoid a one-sentence paragraph, consider spending time on orga
