1) What meanings are the audience encouraged to take about the two main characters from the opening of the film?
In the beginning audience may assume that the two main characters are from the lower class who may be troublesome and they are a bad influence to society


2) How does the end of the film emphasize de Saussure’s belief that signs are polysemic – open to interpretation or more than one meaning?

We change how we precise they boys later when we realise they are deaf feeling sympathy since they were treated poorly by other people therefore supports Saussure's belief that signs can have many different meaning.

5) How does the writer suggest Russian Doll (Netflix) uses narrative codes?
When the camera pans post and lingers on a close up of a bowl that is entirely rotten which is an example of enigma code.

2) Why are icons and indexes so important in media texts?
Icons are important because they are the visual representation of what the advisers are trying to get through and indexes are important since they provide the evidence of what the company is trying to show. They are important to address the conations the company maybe be suggesting


3) Why might global brands try and avoid symbols in their advertising and marketing?

Symbols can have very different meanings in a different country and some symbols may be controversial in another country whereas normal somewhere else.


4) Find an example of a media text (e.g. advert) where the producer has accidentally communicated the wrong meaning using icons, indexes or symbols. Why did the media product fail?

The product clearly has reference to the 9/11 with the 2 brews put together representing the twin tower and the dragonfly on the distance. Also, its called "Collapse into cool" which has reference to something falling which is linked to the 9/11.
